Youth Fitness Programs
Please note:
Due to lack of registration we sadly have to cancel
the July session at both the Roseville and Glenwood
Public School locations.
Our Champions
in Motion youth fitness programs are for
youth ages 8 - 12 and run for 4weeks. Your youngster
can choose from these two exciting programs or do both
if they want to.
Fitness
& Nutrition ClubChampions
in Motion Fitness & Nutrition Club consists
of two, one and one half hour sessions per week. Each
session is divided into a fitness and nutrition component
with correlating fun activities and handouts.
The fitness
component includes:
- Fun cardio drills
- Games that help develop motor skills
(especially important for any child playing sports)
- Playing and learning a new sport
each week such as basketball, baseball, etc.
- And other awesome fitness activities
including body weight muscle strengthening (yes, it
is okay for youth to strengthen their muscles when
they are taught how to do so properly.)

Catherine Pruissen She is a certified Youth
Fitness Specialist,xxxx
Personal Trainer andxxxx
Nutrition and Wellnessxx
Specialist.
Catherine has
anxxxxxxx extensive
background in working with kids of all ages
and knows how to make things fun.

The nutrition component includes learning
about:
- Serving and portion sizes
- How to read nutrition labels
- Good fats / bad fats
- What's in a drink
- Canada's Food Guide
- Lunch and snack planning and so uch
more.
Plus, your child will have a simple
fitness assessment at the beginning and end of the program.
He/she will be able to see, from these assessments,
just how far they have come - how many more situps and
push ups they can do, how much further they can bear
crawl and crab walk, how easier it is for them to run
a designated segment. This is a great motivation booster
to keep going.
Walking
Club
Our Champions in Motion
Walking Club is
a great way for youngsters to meet
up with their friends during the summer or make new
friends and get in a some exercise at the same time.
Sessions will run for 4 weeks and will
feature:
- A different challenge each week to
keep the program fun
- Using a pedometer and walking log
to measure miles and steps
- Lots of fun handouts on nutrition
and fun ways to be active, and
- Mileage tokens for a set numer of
miles walked.
More than anything,
our Champions in Motion
youth fitness programs:
- Helps build confidence and a sense
of accomplishment especially for kids who
shy away from sports or group physical activity programs
- Motivates kids to keep exercising
and eating right when they see the positive changes
in their body
- Helps kids hone sports skills and
coordination while they have fun, lose weight and
get healthy
- Teaches kids how to exercise safely
and protect themselves from injury
- Shows kids that exercise and nutrition
are fun and gets them outside.

in Motion programs are helpful in the following
